About Victoria
Victoria (Tori) Benoit is Program Director of the Bachelor of Science in Paramedicine Program in the School of Health Sciences at the University of New Haven. She brings twenty-four years of experience in prehospital emergency care and EMS education, including field EMT practice in 911 systems across CT, NY, RI, and VT, and is also a Registered Nurse. Since joining the University of New Haven in 2022, she has led didactic instruction for the Paramedicine and Emergency Medical Technician courses, with responsibility spanning curriculum development, course coordination, faculty and preceptor supervision, and clinical and field internship oversight.
Professor Benoit holds Connecticut EMS Instructor and NREMT certifications, AHA BLS and ACLS Instructor status, and multiple NAEMT instructor credentials in trauma, pediatric, and advanced life support. She serves on the Connecticut EMS Advisory Board for Education & Training and Emergency Preparedness. She is completing a Master of Science in Nursing, Nursing Education, at the University of Bridgeport.
Under her leadership, the program is completing its CAAHEP Initial Accreditation process with CoAEMSP, drawing students from across the country and abroad to a curriculum that sets the bar for paramedicine as a profession, both in its on-ground and degree completion online offerings. Benoit is also working to shape the field's future through mobile integrated healthcare, advocating for the advanced paramedic roles that will define the next era of EMS practice.
