About Hannah

Hannah Hooper has worked in the fitness and wellness industry for more than 13 years, beginning her wellness career in Okinawa, Japan, where she taught yoga on U.S. military bases. She currently serves as the Fitness and Wellness Coordinator for Yale Campus Recreation, providing leadership, expertise, and operational oversight for a wide range of fitness, wellness, and instructional programs, including group fitness, specialty instruction, personal training, wellness initiatives, mind-body programming, and special events.

In addition to her work at Yale, Hannah owns and operates her own yoga business, offering virtual and in-person yoga and meditation services to corporate clients, including major pharmaceutical companies and technology firms. She has taught yoga in a variety of settings and is passionate about helping individuals improve their well-being through accessible and inclusive movement practices.

Prior to working in fitness and wellness full-time, Hannah served as an administrator for the USO Area Office in Okinawa, Japan, where she supported active-duty military personnel and their families through a variety of programs and services.

Hannah earned a Master of Science in Health and Wellness Management from the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay in 2024. She also studied at the University of Waikato in Hamilton, New Zealand, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Japanese and Spanish in 2008. She later completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Translation Studies from the University of Auckland in 2009.

Having grown up in both New Zealand and Japan, Hannah brings a global perspective to her work and enjoys connecting with people from diverse backgrounds. She currently resides in New Haven, Connecticut, with her husband, two young children, and their golden retriever, Alby. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, practicing yoga, and exploring local restaurants.
